Kevin O’Leary, also known as “Mr. Wonderful”, is a Canadian businessman, author, and television personality. He was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1954, and has had a successful career in the business world. O’Leary attended the University of Waterloo, where he earned a degree in environmental studies and then went on to complete an MBA at the University of Western Ontario. He then co-founded SoftKey, a software company that eventually became The Learning Company and was sold to Mattel in 1999 for $3.8 billion.
After the sale of The Learning Company, O’Leary became a familiar face on television as a venture capitalist on the reality show “Dragon’s Den”, where entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to investors. He also joined the panel of “Shark Tank”, the American version of “Dragon’s Den”, in 2009. O’Leary is known for his direct, no-nonsense approach to business and is often seen as the tough judge on the panel. However, he has also become popular for his entertaining and sometimes controversial remarks.
